Production Scheduling Planning Software - Global Provider

MultiView

Key Benefits

  • Business Wide Visibility
  • Less Paperwork
  • Fully Customizable with no programming required

MultiView gives the potential for people to view the Work Orders without the paperwork associated, which can save time and the stops the potential for Work Orders to fall through the cracks.

The idea is for anyone with a need and the ability, to look at the board find a Work Order, and see where it is in the Schedule. The MultiView gets its information from The Scheduler database. It provides for one person to act as the ‘Administrator’, who will use the system to enable new users and import sites, and ‘Clients’ who will be able to look at the information, print it off, but not be able to change the data in any way.

Multiview lets many people have simultaneous access to the latest schedule data, from their own workplace PC, without having to interrupt, or even try to find, the person planning their plant.

Use the Planner's sidekick, MultiView, with a networked Microsoft Access, SQL server, or Oracle database. The choice is yours.

The planning data may be from any number of schedulers who have made their plan available on the network, either on a local network, or even sometimes over a wider area, such as with a number of sites or salespeople in the field.

Multiview provides each user with all the information needed from the current schedule, all appropriately arranged for that particular person and directed by their login ID. Control of the schedule is retained by the assigned planning person, so the environment remains secure. All users are updated with the latest schedule any time a new one is distributed from a scheduler by the planning person.

As with the scheduler, plans may be viewed with a board layout or as list.

There have been many issues over the years in the Manufacturing sector, which have made it difficult to maximize the output. Not the least of these issues is maintaining the work that has to be done, and fitting this work into a timely order. With tight deadlines being the normal circumstance in many instances, there is always a necessity to not take
up crucial employee time, looking after the paper work required.

So the main purpose of the MultiView is to maximise the time spent on the Work itself and not on the paperwork which can bog you down. It stops the problem of not getting a paper copy of the Work Order on time, or of losing a vital report at the wrong time. With the ability to change that import time of new data into the MultiView, you can update the Work Orders daily, or even have it updated to the minute for the latest information.

Whilst in the perfect manufacturing environment there would be only one machine that would do all tasks needed to complete a Work Order, this is not the usual circumstance. Typically each Work Order is a team exercise with several machines involved with the process. One of the key functions of the MultiView is to cater for these situations by allowing staff at each machine, with access to a network enabled computer terminal, to view the Work Order as it goes along the chain, and prepare accordingly. This feature is widened further, by having the ability over Wide Area Networks etc, to view Work Orders in other divisions. These divisions could be in other premises, even other countries and the ability still holds that information can be easily shared between the two. There is much information that could be passed along the chain for each Work Order, and the MultiView caters for this by taking the information from the Scheduler. Just a fraction of this information passed includes things like. How much work is coming up for a machine, so planning for
downtime can be organized. The priority of a Work Order so that less important tasks are not put in front of urgent ones. What the next Work Order is, so that planning can be done for it. There are a few tools which are used to give this information. The main ones are the Board and the Lists. The Lists are as the name suggests, a list of Work Order information that fill the specified criteria. For a quick overview of what is happening though, the best tool is the Work Order Board.
